Why the Jehovah's Witnesses are False Prophets

They will not lead you to take Jesus as your Lord and Saviour (1 John 4:14).

They do not have Jesus dwelling within their hearts (2 Corinthians 13:5).

To be a true Christian you must have Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

‘While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep’ (Acts 7:59-60).

‘To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:’ (1 Corinthians 1:2).

‘Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me’ (2 Corinthians 12:8-9).

Do you pray to Jesus? JW's refuse to pray to Him.

“Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him” (Matthew 2:2).

‘On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh’ (Matthew 2:11).

‘When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God’ (Luke 24:50-53).

‘Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”

“Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”

Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”

Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshipped him’ (John 9:35-38).

‘And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him” (Hebrews 1:6).

Do you worship the Lord Jesus Christ? JW's refuse to worship Him.

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’ (John 1:1).

The Jehovah’s Witnesses have claimed that Jesus is only ‘a god,’ and not the one true Almighty God, but this is blasphemy. For all the ‘gods’ of the world are false gods (Isaiah 43:10-11; Galatians 4:8), and the first commandments is clear: “You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3). To deny the divinity of Christ is to break God’s holy law and bring a false god before the one true God.

‘Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:28-29).

‘Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen’ (Romans 9:5).

‘My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge’ (Colossians 2:2-3).

‘For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,’ (Colossians 2:9).

‘But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom” (Hebrews 1:8).

Is Jesus your God? JW's refuse to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and God.

If you are a true Christian then you will be able to pray to Jesus, not just through Him. You will be able to worship Jesus equally with the Father, and you will be able to call Jesus your Lord and God.

The reason why Jehovah’s Witnesses find it hard to understand that Jesus is God is because they do not believe in the Holy Trinity; that God is three eternal persons—the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God the Son, the second person of the Holy Trinity.

The JW’s try to say, “There is no Trinity in the Bible.” Yet the Bible reveals the divine nature of the Father, the divine nature of Jesus Christ, and the divine nature of the Holy Spirit; proving that the God of the Bible is a Trinity.

‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,’ (Matthew 28:19).

Jesus is called the Son of Man because He became a man and He is called the Son of God because He is God. We have to acknowledge both Christ's humanity and divinity.

Jesus said: “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins” (John 8:24).

A person will die in their sins because they deny Jesus.

‘Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name’ (John 20:30-31).

‘I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus’ (Acts 20:21).

The Bible is clear that you must confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" in order to be saved (Romans 10:9).

'But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves’ (2 Peter 2:1).

‘For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord’ (Jude 4).

The false prophets are those who deny the Sovereign Lordship of Jesus Christ, which is what the JW's do. They are therefore the false prophets that the Bible warns us about. Is Jesus truly the Lord of your life?

Jesus said: “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life” (John 5:39-40).

Are you still refusing to come to Jesus to receive eternal life? Or will you now repent of your sins and be saved?

“Jesus, have mercy on me and forgive me for sinning against You. I put my faith in You and take You as my Lord and Saviour.”
